At Gentry Custom Remodeling, we take pride in creating spaces that enhance both comfort and functionality. Recently, we had the honor of remodeling a master bathroom for Alan, a Navy veteran who served in Europe and the Mediterranean. With funding from the Veteran’s Administration (VA), we redesigned his outdated master bathroom into a fully accessible space designed for his needs.
A Safer, More Accessible Space
Alan uses a wheelchair, which made navigating his old bathroom difficult. The sloped floor into the shower created instability, and the sink vanity wasn’t fully accessible. Our team leveled and re-tiled the entire floor and curbless shower, installed a roll-under sink for easy access, and added grab bars and a folding shower seat for safety and independence.
Meeting VA and ADA Standards with Quality and Care
Beyond working closely with the VA for funding, we ensured that every detail of Alan’s new bathroom adhered to ADA requirements, right down to the coefficient of friction of the floor tile. From spacious clearance for maneuverability to proper fixture placement, every element was designed for ease of use and long-term accessibility.
Alan’s reaction made it all worth it—his new bathroom isn’t just functional; it’s a place where he feels comfortable and at home.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve those who have served us. If you or a loved one needs a remodel tailored to your or their needs, we are here to help.
